Activity Guide

Polo action

Witness a captivating display of horsemanship under the stars and sample the best in authentic Argentinian cuisine at this unique night-time polo experience.

Discover the adrenaline-filled excitement of the sport of kings as you watch a fast-paced professional four-chukkers game on Argentina's only illuminated polo field.

During the first chukker you'll learn the history, rules and traditions of the game from an expert guide while enjoying a typical "picada Argentina" selection of cold meats and cheeses accompanied by locally produced beer.

Your guide will introduce you to the polo equipment used by the horses and riders and share the fascinating story of Argentina's love affair with this ancient sport.

As you watch the drama of the second chukker unfold, empanadas, freshly cooked on an "asado" charcoal grill, will be served along with premium Argentinian wines. Gourmet meat sandwiches with chimichurri and salsa will make your tastebuds sing as the game continues into the third and fourth chukkers.

In-between play, you'll have the opportunity to visit the pony line and watch the grooms at work behind the scenes as they saddle the horses. There will also be a chance for you to practice different shot techniques with foot mallets following a practical demonstration from your guide.

This immersive experience offers an unforgettable glimpse into the rich culture of Argentina and the thrilling excitement of a game once strictly reserved for royalty only.

Visitors to this laid back estancia located 50 minutes from Buenos Aires can explore its impeccable 42-hectares on foot or by bicycle. A series of well-maintained sandy bridle-paths make discovering the area's rural beauty on horseback an unforgettable experience.

Inside the ranch are three distinct asado areas in which to sip wine and enjoy the exquisite flavours of prime meat, spiced sausages, and fresh vegetables cooked on an Argentinian charcoal barbecue.

When it's time to relax, guests can unwind in the elegant clubhouse or cool off in the swimming pool. Alternatively, private instruction in horse riding or a lesson on how to cook an authentic Argentine barbecue can be arranged - all you need to do is ask.

About Argentina Polo Day

Husband and wife team Celia and Ruben launched Argentina Polo Day in 2009. Today they run two Polo Clubs, El Camino Polo Club and La Carona Polo Club, both of which are known for their friendly and relaxed yet professional atmosphere.

The innovative couple pioneered one-day polo experiences in Argentina and were the first to offer night-time matches under the stars in the country's only fully-illuminated polo arena.

Celia and Ruben are proud to offer a polo game every day of the year. Club amenities include a clubhouse, a swimming pool and multiple asado areas.

Intensive one-on-one instruction in English and Spanish, strategy classes, and practices of four to six chukkas are on offer to amateur and professional players of all levels. A women-only polo skills development program, Argentina Polo Day for Women, is also available.

Argentina Polo Day has been awarded TripAdvisor’s certificate of excellence 9 years in a row and received the “Marca País Argentina" tourism accolade.
